How in a Muslim way to name the child

How in a Muslim way to name the child

One of the most important events after the birth of the child is his naming. Parents think of it long before birth of the kid. In Moslem doctrine there are rules and traditions of carrying out this ceremony.

It is required to you

  • - Hadiths;
  • - list of Muslim names.

Instruction

1. For a start choose time for a naming ceremony. By Muslim tradition for this purpose there are two right moments. Some name at once that day when the child was born. Probably, such tradition appeared after the statement of the Envoy Allah: "At me the boy was born tonight, and I called him Ibrahim". Other tradition advises to name for the seventh day after the child's birth. Its sources lie in manual of the Prophet where it is said that on the seventh day to the child shave the head and name a name.

2. Solve with family who will name the child. By tradition it is done by parents of the kid. But this right can be transferred to any other family member or other person. If the name is chosen by parents, but agreement was not reached, then privilege remains for the child's father. Also the father if desired is able to allow mother to make the decision.

3. Choose a name which the child will bear all the life. It can begin with Abd that is meant by "slave". It shows that the child belongs to Allah's slaves. You can call the kid by the name of any Envoy Allah or one of Prophets (for example, Ibrahim, Muslim).

4. Study Hadiths to know for sure the complete list of names which are undesirable to giving to the child and what of them are forbidden by Sharia. It is impossible to choose names which are rejected by Sharia. These are names of tyrants, kaffirs. Should not enter the name on the fact that its owner is not Allah's servant.

5. Carry out a naming ceremony. It becomes rather simply. The one who names has to tell "His name will be …" or "Call it …". The second option approaches in case parents gave someone the right to call the child.
