How to change a proxy

Rather often users use proxy servers for connection to different network resources. It helps to bypass the ban of some websites on the specific IP addresses or to get access to the blocked resources.

Instruction

1. In each browser the proxy servers are configured separately. If you need to connect completely the computer to the Internet via the proxy server, then configure properties of the network adapter. Consider that it will lead to strong falling of access rate in the Internet therefore begin with the first point. Open the Mozilla Firefox browser.

2. Open the Setup tab and select the Advanced settings menu. Pass "Network" to a tab. Find the Configure button opposite to the Connection point and click it. Select a checkbox near the Manual Adjustment of the Proxy Server parameter. Now fill out the following four paragraphs of this menu with the addresses of proxy servers and the relevant ports.

3. You can also specify the addresses of the websites access to which does not require connection via proxy servers. For this purpose enter their url-addresses through a comma in Not Use a Proxy for field.

4. If you use the Opera browser, then start it and in the Setup menu select the General settings item. Now open the Expanded tab and select point "Network" located in the left menu of a new window. Press the Proxy servers button. Select a checkbox opposite to the Configure the Proxy Server Manually point. Enter in the fields located below, the addresses and ports of the required proxy servers.

5. If you need to configure Internet access via the proxy server on a global scale, then open the list of active connections to network. Select the network adapter through which the computer gets Internet access. Open its properties. Select the Internet Protocol of TCP/IP menu and click "Properties".

6. Now specify the proxy server IP address in The Preferred DSN Server field. If your computer is connected to the server directly, then register the same value in the Main Gateway field.
