The world wide web abounds with different Internet resources and the websites most of which often are meant as the same. Internet resources can perform the most different functions. Therefore it is worth understanding that they are.
Concept and emergence of Internet resources
The website first in own way appeared in 1990, on it there were data on World Wide Web (WWW) technology, the HTTP protocol and their features. Later on this website also links to other similar Internet resources appeared therefore the first website became also the very first online catalog. Tim Berners-Li, the American programmer became the founding father of HTTP, WWW and the creator of without what the modern Internet is impossible.
In modern understanding the Internet resource represents set of the electronic documents or files integrated by one IP address or the domain. All websites (or Internet resources that is equivalent) are located on the servers deleted from each other which combination is called the World wide web. It integrates among themselves different pieces of information from network in a whole.
Types of Internet resources
All of them are divided by several signs. First, on availability of the services. The point is that resources of any given website can be or in open and free access (registration, but not always can be necessary), or in closed. In the latter case can be required invayt (the one-time invitation) or a payment for access.
The second criterion by which the websites in network are divided is its arrangement. It can be in access from the Internet when any user can get on this resource, or in the local area network. In this case availability of the website is limited to a certain range of the IP addresses.
The most difficult criterion by which the websites are divided is the dividing circuit of providing information to the user. There are so-called Internet portals having difficult hierarchy, consisting of a set of pages and including the mass of data. The portal can consist of a set of the interdependent websites integrated by uniform subject, etc. Also information resources take place, most often they are devoted to a certain subject.
The special attention is deserved by Internet representations and web services. The purpose of the first is providing information to users on any business, the company, the project, etc. Web services are created for execution of certain tasks within the current technical development of the Internet (hosting, search, bulletin boards, mail services, forums, etc.)
