To answer this question, scientists made an experiment in which 2 groups of people participated, some had a full night sleep, others had any sleep disorders or a chronic sleep debt. Examinees after several days of observations were placed in the MRI cell and showed them certain products and dishes. Fully getting enough sleep people gave preference to fruit and vegetables, and those who had sleep disorders and didn't get enough sleep, chose greasy and high-calorie food for having a snack. Scientists explain such behavior to the following: those people who don't get enough sleep, try to reward themselves something tasty and high-calorie for sleepless night. Thus participants of an experiment tried to compensate the energy which isn't received during sleep.

At continuation of an experiment it was noted that both groups of participants experience identical physical activity, at the first – getting enough sleep – calories are spent more, and participants of the second group everything is postponed in fats. All essence in this case is in hormones which are responsible for our appetite, and them, actually, only two: leptin, quashing feeling of hunger, and грелин, here effect absolutely opposite. At the people lacking a dream, the level of hormone of a grelin is constantly increased that provides constant feeling of hunger, and the amount of leptin is on the contrary reduced, and often people can't be sated though food was eaten enough.

Those who watch over the health have to not only make correctly the diet, but also get enough sleep fully.
