Though the tomato is also not considered whimsical plant, nevertheless it is necessary to make certain efforts to grow up good seedling independently.
If for the seeds planted in soil favorable conditions (temperature, lighting, humidity) is created, then the first shoots have to appear for the fifth day. After that it is necessary to remove film from containers and to place them in more cool place (about 18 degrees). You should not water just appeared shoots, it is enough to spray the surface of soil with boiled water of room temperature. It is also important to provide to young shoots sufficient lighting - not less than 12 hours a day. At lack of sunlight it is possible to turn on fluorescent lamps.
Helpful advice: for spraying of the soil it is possible to add weak solution of permanganate of potassium to water (potassium permanganate). It is necessary to water seedling thus not more often than once in 6-7 days before emergence of the third leaflet.
Before change of seedling it is necessary to carry out hardening to more spacious containers. For this purpose it is necessary to take out tanks with seedling on loggia for 10-15 minutes every day (if temperature not lower than +10 there). It is gradually possible to increase the time spent of seedling for loggia, especially on sunny days. Thus it is necessary to make hardening about 10 days.
The sword-play needs to be made accurately not to damage still weak backs. Therefore it is not necessary before change it is abundant to humidify the earth that roots have been covered with layer of the dried-up soil. It is necessary to replace seedling in in advance prepared containers of the suitable size, having filled them with damp fertile soil.
Contrary to common opinion, seedling of tomatoes does not need frequent and abundant watering. It should be carried out when the top soil slightly dries. It is very important to water seedling ""at the roots"", without humidifying leaves and stalks of tomatoes.
Helpful advice: after the sword-play seedling needs to be placed in the dark place on couple of days that roots have better grown on the new place.
