Cultivation of tomatoes – business quite laborious, however most of gardeners successfully cope with it and remove big harvests from small beds. One of important conditions of good survival and abundant fructification of this plant is timely and correct change of seedling of tomatoes from one container in small pots. Plant breeders call this process sword-play.
It is required to you
- - Seedling of tomatoes with two real leaves;
- - soil and pots of the small size;
- - potassium permanganate;
- - water;
- - thermometer;
- - rake or wooden level;
- - watering can;
- - growth factor (not necessarily).
Instruction
1. Prepare to diveseedlingby tomatoes when on their seedlings about two real leaves grow. Biologists have proved that they both at earlier, and at later (with 3-4 leaves) change of plant take root much worse and often get sick.
2. Water the earth in container in couple of hours prior to process of change of seedlings of tomatoes that water has managed to be absorbed properly in soil. It will allow you further with ease to take seedlings from the earth.
3. Prepare pots of the small size and the earth for change of tomatoes beforehand. Landing soil has to be just the same on structure what was used at crops of seeds. To prevent diseases and damage of seedling, it is recommended to water the earth in pots with weak solution of permanganate of potassium. By the time of the sword-play the used soil has to manage to heat up to temperature about 20 degrees.
4. Dig out seedling by means of special rake, or wide wooden level, trying not to damage side backs of small plants at all. At this stage it is necessary to reject all weak and underdeveloped seedlings. The lower tip of the main root of each perfect tomato needs to be pinched off nails that the root system continued to develop correctly. If not to make it, the root will go deep into that will damage to future fructification of tomatoes. Do not pull out seedling from the earth at all – it can damage it!
5. Plant seedling of tomatoes in small pole (approximately 5-6 cm in depth). Pay attention that the root should not be bent! Surely properly condense the earth around the replaced sprout. If seedling has managed to be extended too, it needs to be deepened slightly. However cotyledonous leaves have to be on the surface of the soil.
6. It is abundant water each replaced tomato seedling to exclude emptiness in the field of root system. Water for watering should not be too cold - optimum temperature of +23-24 degrees. At first put pots with tomatoes best of all to put in shadow and to water plants in process of drying of the earth, however it is not too frequent (all time or two in week). When the replaced seedlings take root, put them on the solar place. Do not forget to air the room regularly. Now your tomatoes will well feel also at temperature of +15-18 degrees.
