Apple-tree — culture which is appreciated by the fruits. But there are grades which cultivate not for receiving apples, and only for the decorative purposes. One of such unusual plants is the hybrid of "Royalty". The tree with red-violet leaves and ruby flowers looks very effectively.
Description
The hybrid grade of "Royalty" has been removed by selectors on the basis of purple Central Asian apple-tree of Nedzvedsky. The tree differs in the small size and slow growth rate. The size "Royalty" averages 4 meters. The krone has the oval compact form, but over time it becomes sprawling.
At leaves glossy surface of very beautiful purple (red-violet) tone thanks to what the apple-tree looks very exotically. Closer to fall the foliage gets saturated crimson color. The Krasnolistny grade of "Royalty" is decorative from blossoming to leaf fall, the apple-tree is capable to decorate the site during all vegetation.
"Royalty" very beautifully blossoms. Within two weeks at the beginning of May the tree is covered with ruby large flowers (the size of bud is 2.5 — 3.5 cm), at the same time they are extraordinary fragrant. In September, small fruits of the size of nail, slightly oblong shape are formed. Consider that they are inedible and in certain cases can even cause sharp food poisoning at the use.
How to put and look after apple-tree of "Royalty"
Generally care for decorative apple-tree same, as well as behind normal fruit-trees. For disembarkation choose the solar place, in that case the color of leaves will be more intensive. To the soil of "Royalty" it is undemanding, but prefers fertile and moderately damp substrate, well grows on loams.
Landing stages
- Choose the solar place.
- Dig out pole about 60 cm in depth and as much in width.
- Add nutritious substrate: the garden earth mixed in wood ashes and mineral fertilizers.
- Pour out 1 bucket of water in the prepared pole.
- Submerge roots of sapling in the turned-out talker and fill up with nutritious soil from all directions, at the same time periodically foot tap the earth that it was not formed air emptiness.
- When landing you watch that the root neck has not been covered with earth.
- Near sapling establish peg and tie up to it apple-tree.
- Around landing make the roller of the earth and it is abundant water. If necessary add still the earth.

Keep in mind that when planting several plants the distance between them has to make not less than three meters.
The grade of "Royalty" is unpretentious, it is morozo- and drought-resistant. The plant has excellent mealy dew resistance. And here it is necessary to protect from scab of apple-tree as "Royalty" badly resists to this disease.
Care for apple-tree of "Royalty" consists of watering, destruction of weeds, fertilizing by organic fertilizers and redigging of pristvolny circle. For the winter the plant should be covered with fir twigs.
