How to grow up oyster mushrooms on the site

Collecting mushrooms in the forest - occupation incredibly fascinating, but, unfortunately, season lasts long not. If desired it is possible to grow up mushrooms at itself on the site, and the choice for a start can be stopped on oyster mushrooms as they the least whimsical, quickly grow and are not subject to various diseases.

It is possible to grow up oyster mushrooms practically on everything that is in economy, but bars of tree and straw most often are for this purpose used. It is possible to use two types of cultivation of oyster mushrooms: extensive and intensive.

At extensive cultivation the oyster mushroom, as well as in nature, will be grown up on tree, respectively and the harvest will be, as in the nature, – seasonal. To receive harvest of mushrooms by extensive method, it is necessary to begin with preparation of tree. The optimum size are bars up to 40 centimeters long and with a diameter from 25 centimeters. Ready bars are soaked in water at least a week that the humidity of tree has reached 90%. After bar is ready, it is infected with mycelium: the face of bar strews with mycelium in number of 100-150 grams, is wrapped in polyethylene, is filled up from above with straw or damp sawdust. At the next stage bars go away to the room in which temperature 15-20os. Within the next 2-2.5 months, bars will grow. As soon as there is white fluffy raid, bars can be moved on the site for the natural growth of mushrooms. In the shaded place, bars need to be dug to the earth approximately on two thirds that they did not dry up. Oyster mushrooms 2 times a year fructify – in March-April and in September-October.

To grow up oyster mushrooms all the year round, it is necessary to use the intensive method demanding at least two rooms with different temperature. In this case not bars of tree, and bags with substrate are used any more. Straw is considered the best substrate. At the first stage straw is crushed up to 5-10 centimeters, retted for day in water, and after that is thermally processed. Heat treatment kills mouldy mushrooms – competitors of oyster mushroom. It is possible to process straw very simply. It is enough to fill in of it with boiled water and to leave for 5 hours. The ready straw which has cooled down up to the temperature of 25 wasps is suitable for landing of mycelium. For this purpose it is located in bag 50 centimeters wide and 100 centimeters high. In bag it is previously necessary to make about 12 openings which diameter has to be 10 mm. Openings are evenly distributed on all surface of bag. Straw and mycelium give all the best layers, mycelium in lump there have to be 3-5%. The bag with mix is tied and belongs to the room for prorashchivaniye at temperature of 24 wasps and humidity up to 90%. Light is not necessary at this time and is even contraindicated. It is necessary for growth of mycelium up to 18 days then the bag moves to the room intended for fructification. Indoor temperature has to be 20 wasps, but within 5 days it will need to be lowered to 15 wasps gradually. At this temperature mushrooms will ripen. During maturing of oyster mushroom need light - lighting can be provided with cold lamps of bluish color. The light has to be turned on not less than 10 hours a day. Also blocks with future harvest have to be aired well, and the humidity should not decrease lower than 90%. Mushrooms under favorable conditions will appear in week to please with the taste and useful properties. The harvest can be collected 3 times a year, and for the second and third time it will be much less.
