How to multiply phalaenopsis

Removal of large number of hybrid phalaenopsis has led to the fact that this orchid which was earlier considered as whimsical and difficult for cultivation in house conditions began to meet more often in normal apartments. It is no wonder that fans of room floriculture have desire to multiply especially effective flower. Though phalaenopsis belongs to monopodialny orchids and practically does not give vegetative the layer, way to receive new plant nevertheless exists.

  • - phalaenopsis having good root system and not less than four healthy leaves;
  • - small glass from transparent plastic;
  • - pine bark;
  • - mini-small greenery;
  • - cinnamon, fundazol, coal.

1. Take phalaenopsis with fresh peduncle. The plant has to have a rest after blossoming about two months. Cut off peduncle to the first sleeping kidney.

2. In February-March put orchid on the western window so that the sun got on it from 15 o'clock. Try to shade leaves and to leave peduncle on bright to light. The temperature drop between has to be considerable day and night.

3. Reduce watering. It has to be very poor, the break between waterings of 10-15 days is possible. Be guided by condition of leaves.

4. After a while the sleeping kidney will wake up, and from it the child of phalaenopsis will begin to develop. Often on the store plants of the child overfed with hormonal additives are formed on peduncles independently, without any additional actions.

5. After appearance of the child rearrange plant to warmer and shaded place and begin to water and bring fertilizing normally. It is the best of all to make fertilizing "according to leaf", sprinkling leaves weak solution of fertilizer. For fast development of the child provide temperature of +25+30 degrees.

6. Prepare small pot. The pot has to be transparent with large number of openings. It is possible to use small plastic cup.

7. For landing of young plant prepare pine bark of 0.5 in size – 1 cm. Take about a half of necessary quantity from pot of maternal plant and crush to the necessary size. This bark already has all microorganisms, necessary for plant, and will facilitate adaptation of the child in soil.

8. Separate young plant when backs reach length not less than 4 cm. On the separated child there have to be three leaves and good roots. Cut off the child together with peduncle piece of 1 cm. Powder cut fundazoly, ground cinnamon or coal.

9. Plant young orchid in the prepared soil and place in small greenery.

10. Within year phalaenopsis will let grow roots and leaves. Only after the quantity of leaves will double and at least one back will grow to the bottom pot, it is possible to accustom gradually plant to usual room conditions.
