However on the sizes of plastic windows there are standards which are always relevant – even during era of great experiments. And, these parameters which are not invented – they are specified in the list of State standards.
Plastic windows: standard dimensions and GOST
The sizes of window blocks and apertures have been calculated, proceeding from GOST indicators. So, for windows with two shutters the size of 1300х1400 mm, and with three – 2050х1400 mm is considered standard. In certain cases the window with three shutters can reach up to 2070 mm in height – GOST allows this fact. In normative documents the sizes on dormer-windows, balcony doors are also considered. For five-storey apartment blocks the sizes of windows will differ in accordance with GOST: so, for window openings with wide windowsill double-wing window – 1450х1500 mm, and three-leaved – 2040х1500 mm; with narrow windowsill - 1300х1350 mm and 2040х1350 millimeters respectively.
Why the "correct" plastic windows are in demand
The sizes of windows in accordance with GOST remain still popular, the reason for that - their price. Producers, having arranged line production of plastics of windows on standard dimensions, noticeably reduce the prime cost of the product, and it means that such windows will be far cheaper. The difference in the price is so essential that it will be much more favorable to adjust standard plastic window in non-standard aperture, than to buy non-standard. So occurs when make installation of windows in owner-occupied dwellings which are constructed without observance of state standard specification.
What option to choose – standard or non-standard windows
The sizes of plastic windows in accordance with GOST have the pluses: for example, their proportions are calculated most precisely – they are checked by time large number of users. However increase in windows which leads to the bigger illumination of the room does not give reliability guarantee. For example, the shutter more than 1000 quarter of mm can become the reason of deformation of double-glazed window because of excessive loading that will strongly reduce terms of operation of window. But it belongs to very big sizes of window, in other cases the owners of double-glazed window can make a start from the material resources. It should be taken into account that the low cost of double-glazed windows in no way will not affect their quality. The price of non-standard profiles raises due to production process complication – it demands individual miscalculations, preparation of production and design. Indicators thermo - and sound insulation at windows with sizes in accordance with GOST will be excellent, they will keep optimum microclimate indoors and will not allow to spoil its exterior.
