Laying of the foundation - one of the main stages of construction of the building. The base is the real support for future building therefore it has to be the strongest. That it has sustained even the most heavy load and humid environment underground, it is necessary to choose special type of brick.
The parent construction material which is required for laying of the foundation is the brick. To understand what brick for production of the base is better — very not simply. Modern manufacturers of this kind of construction ceramics have captivated the market set of various grades of construction and finishing brick.
What has to be brick
From all variety of the grades and brands of brick presented at the market for underground works it is the best of all to use corpulent, clay, red, well flame brick. This brand of brick differs in large-scale of resistance to compression, much better than other brands resists to moisture (does not accumulate and does not absorb it).
The recommended brands of brick
The base made of such brick will correspond to initial technical characteristics much longer and longer time will be able to do without repair. The brands recommended for application: M-300, M-250, M-200, M-175 and M-150. The indicator of frost resistance has to be not lower than 35 and the level of water absorption has to be from 6% to 16%. Certainly, the water absorption level is lower, the better, however it is necessary to consider also the fact that the brick with low indicator of hygroscopicity is significantly more expensive.
What needs to be known
The white lime sand brick on the strength characteristics is better than red brick, but because of bad moisture resistance, it is not suitable for underground laying, it can be applied to facing of the base especially as such construction material has very presentable exterior. The only type of brick capable it is worthy to replace red brick during the underground works, is the clinker brick made of special grades of clay. Such construction material is much stronger and is capable to resist to moisture. However high cost does its application during creation of the bases inexpedient. The clinker brick belongs to facing brands and is applied, as a rule, in the course of facing works on facades buildings. Categorically it is not recommended to apply any brands of hollow brick to underground laying. It perfectly absorbs moisture, is not capable to resist to loads of bend and compression. It is also not recommended to build the base, using any brands of lime sand brick which very badly resist to temperature drops and easily collapse under the influence of water, as it is not surprising, considering the fact that the lime sand brick is, in fact, the pressed sand.
