Scientific achievements are necessary for mankind. For certain, most of people will agree with this statement. Someone because firmly in it it is confident, and someone just because it is always simpler to agree, than to explain refusal. Here only not each representative of modern society can not only tell about necessity of science, but also explain why it is necessary.
In everyday life the people often use achievements of great scientists, sometimes without attaching it absolutely any significance. Usual day of the ordinary person includes acceptance of a shower, washing, drinking of tea or coffee, a breakfast, a lunch, a dinner, watching TV, pastime at the computer, travel by public transport or by own car, use of the elevator, taking any drugs, etc. Force of a habit does all these things so ordinary that they do not even seem somehow connected with science.
Actually, if not inquisitiveness of such people as Einstein, Ampere, Faraday, Maxwell, Hertz, Newton, Townes, Prokhorov, Popov and many others, the mankind still would not know about electricity, hydrodynamics, radio waves, laser disks, medicines, etc. I.e. without development of science there would be no progress, so, people would not look for meaning of life (going deep into humanitarian spheres), and would escape for hunger and cold, being horrified by the natural phenomena (rain, a hail, a thunderstorm). And water in the crane, light, cooking, cars, medicine - all this just would not be. From what it is possible to draw a conclusion: the science is necessary not just to exist, and to live.
Certainly, scientific achievements not always joyful. Also do not bring to the creators anything good, for example, an atomic bomb. Some opening do essential harm to the environment (as well as the person). It is necessary to hope that in the near future the scientists will minimize this damage. Some claim that now development of science is senseless, all fundamental discoveries are already made. But this statement is obviously incorrect. Of course, it is unknown whether life on the earth from modern researches will change as once exchanged because of, for example, electricity. But it does not mean that achievements are not necessary any more. The science forces the person to think, progress and reach everything new heights.
