The mankind is frightened approaching doomsday for a long time. Recently misfortunes and global disasters foretell on several for a year, however people are still alive. However if to depart from myths and predictions and to look at scientific forecasts, doomsday will be present also at them.
Possible causes of death of mankind
Scientists are people who are not deprived of imagination, and they periodically think of doomsday and create more or less plausible hypotheses. Among the causes of death of mankind offered by the scientific world the nuclear or biological warfare, a pandemic against which activator will not manage to find medicine, change of magnetic poles of the earth, destruction of an ozone layer, hunger owing to increase of population of the planet, superflash in the Sun or close flash supernew, eruption of a supervolcano, falling of an asteroid, run out of control of artificial intelligence or nanotechnologies appear. Many ideas are obtained from science-fiction works, and probabilities of fulfillment of similar events are extremely small.
The present doomsday
And still doomsday is a reality. Today it is considered that Earth passes through cycles of freezing and following warming behind it. Now the planet is in the middle of a cycle, however through 25 thousand years there will come the global cold snap again, and caps of glaciers will move far on the South.
Active emissions in the atmosphere of a huge amount of carbon dioxide will probably delay a cold snap, however will not cancel it.
The planet relief slowly, but inevitably continues to change. Tectonic plates move, and gradually they will form new continents. It agrees to one of scenarios, North America will face Africa, Southern will twist the southern part of the African continent. Australia will merge with Indonesia, and Europe will face the Dark continent therefore the Mediterranean Sea will disappear.
Each collision will be followed by strong earthquakes and emergence of new mountain chains.
Freezing and collision of continents, certainly, will have a huge impact on mankind, however nevertheless will not lead to extinction of people and also animals and plants – many types will survive and will restore the number. But doomsday is inevitable. All stars, including, and the Sun, gradually change. Temperature and luminosity of the Sun steadily increases. Over time in the atmosphere the amount of carbon dioxide (it will appear in the connected state), and after and oxygen will decrease. At first life will return back to the sea which will continue to exist even then when the land turns into the desert. Over time also the seas (scientists predict that they remained about 1.1 billion years) will disappear, there will be only small local reservoirs. Subsequently temperature on Earth will increase to such an extent that rocks will melt. Through 5 billion years the Sun will exhaust hydrogen in own kernel and will regenerate in the red giant. It will absorb Mercury, Venus, the Moon and, perhaps, Earth. But even if it will not occur, the planet will be heated to such temperature that nothing live on it will be able to survive.
