Why muscles harden

Why muscles harden

Many athletes who are too fond of power exercises and not caring for flexibility at all have dense and tight muscles. Many research works show that athletes with harder muscles have higher power rates and bigger risk of getting injured, than those at whom muscles are more elastic.

Instruction

1. All muscles consist of sokratitelny proteins of actin and myosin. The more these fibers, the muscles are larger. Fibers are connected with each other by other protein – collagen. Each muscle since both ends is attached to bones by sinews. The collagen which is contained in sinews passes the efforts developed by sokratitelny fibers. As collagen firmer, than myosin and actin, its quantity defines muscle density degree in its weakened state. At the muscle tension myosin and actin becomes same firm, as well as collagen. Therefore during the work on flexibility of muscles it is warmed at first that the greatest stretching effort was the share of muscle fibers, but not on connecting.

2. According to results of the researches conducted with participation of experienced athletes and unexercised people those who had dense muscles developed the bigger isometric and concentrated effort. Therefore, muscle density directly influences power indicators. In elastic muscles the pass of effort is longer therefore its work is less effective. Also long ago the fact that at trainings with burdenings of the muscle are enslaved was noticed. The same effect is rendered on them by the received steroids. On the one hand, loss of elasticity to please to higher power rates is received as the reasonable measure. On the other hand, it comes down that many athletes-security officers can't touch to the hip-pocket of trousers.

3. As it was already noted, one of side effects of tight muscles – the increased risk of getting injured in the form of the rupture of sheaves. The exact reason for that isn't established, but most of researchers incline to the assumption that the flexible musculocopular system will amortize better. Therefore, regular extension of muscles is not only convenience in the form of wider range of movements, but also significantly smaller risk of getting injured.

4. In strength sports, such as weightlifting or powerlifting, sacrifice flexibility for the sake of the possibility of receiving the prize-winning place at competitions. Moreover, to make itself more "rigid", they apply various T-shirts, shorts, belts and bandages. And the risk of the trauma at the raising of extreme weights is all the same very high. In bodybuilding it is senseless to sacrifice flexibility for the sake of extra kilos. The purpose of the body builder is to subject muscles as it is possible for the bigger stress. And it is possible to make it and without heavy burdenings.

5. Moreover, many researchers confirm that more elastic muscles allow the athlete to be recovered better between trainings. And it is also important in bodybuilding, as well as loadings. The active restoration consisting in performance of the stretching exercises considerably accelerates recovery of muscles. And it is recommended to perform such exercises or right after the training, or next day after it.

6. In the sports demanding application of the explosive strength, for example, in jumps or sprint, the hardness of muscles from the assistant becomes the opponent. The fact is that more elastic muscles at extension can reserve bigger amount of energy which is released at reduction. Besides, sharp extension (for example, squat before the jump) forces muscle fibers to react sharp reduction – it is called the miotatichesky reflex.
