For successful keeping of rabbits the cage has to protect an animal from drafts and direct sunshine, provide sufficient access of air and light, and also it has to be convenient to clean up it. Still it is necessary not to forget about the necessary sizes: width at least 80 cm, height – 55 cm, and depth – 70 cm (too deep cages are inconvenient in operation). Not all purchased cages conform to these requirements, besides they are very expensive. Respectively, it is the best of all to make a cage most.

- Boards thickness ~ 1 cm (for example, lining);
- Bars 3х4;
- - Metal corners for fastening of a bar-shaped framework;
- - Flat metal corners for fastening of a framework for doors;
- - Metal gauze with cells of 1.5 - 2.5 cm;
- - Loops for doors;
- - Self-tapping screws 2.5 - 3 cm long and small self-tapping screws for doors and a lock;
- - Latch or a hook for locking of doors;
- - Thin carnations for fastening of a grid and the hammer (or the furniture stapler);
- - The sheet of tin or roofing felt for a roof (if the cage is in the fresh air);
- - Liquid nails or the rubber isolating rubber linings under carnations for a roof;
- - Saw.
Instruction
1. At first you have to make a framework of bars. Front struts of a framework are recommended to be done 5-7 cm higher that the odnoskatny roof with a bias to a back wall turned out. Saw off bars of the necessary length that it turned out two for front struts, two for back and four bars of identical length for longitudinal parts of a framework. If the cage often is transferred from place to place, then it is better for you to strengthen it, having added a longitudinal bar on a back wall and on vertical bar to sidewalls. When bars are ready, fasten them with self-tapping screws. Horizontal bars have to be "in" vertical, and, back lower bar should be fixed 3-4 centimeters above front as on them a floor which is recommended to tide up with a bias to a facade for conveniences of a cage is laid.
2. When the framework is ready, you need to board it. Sidewalls, a floor and a roof should be made deafs wooden, and back to board on ¾, having left above, under the roof, free space.
3. Further you should attach by means of thin nails or the furniture stapler a grid on a back wall where there are no boards. It will provide ventilation in a cage as some mesh doors are not enough.
4. Then collect a framework of doors. It is the best of all to do two as one big can warp. For this purpose saw off boards of the necessary length under 45 degrees, then fasten by means of flat corners. Further sew up doors with the metal gauze.
5. Then it is necessary to attach a latch or a hook to a door by means of small self-tapping screws. It is better to do it before the door is hung up on a cage not to loosen a loop.
6. Now doors should be hung on a cage. For this purpose attach two loops on doors small self-tapping screws, then screw them on a framework long. Surely at once check how the lock on a door is closed. If you were mistaken a little, then rearrange a hook/latch so that it conveniently was closed and opened.
7. Now the last step remained – to fix a protective coating for a cage roof if it is necessary. It can just be pasted liquid nails – in that case the covering should not be perforated, and it will better protect from moisture. If you decided to fix it by nails, then surely use rubber laying under a nail hat, otherwise the roof will proceed, and the cage to decay.
