Today the payment card is a convenient means to make purchases on the Internet, directly without leaving the house. At the same time it is rather simple to use it - it is necessary to know several simple designations only.
Payment cards which can be used for purchases on the Internet can be credit or debit. In the first case of means which the buyer can use belong to bank, in the second are its own money. However in both cases such card has several required parameters.
These cards
At implementation of purchase on the Internet at a stage of carrying out payment the system will ask the buyer to enter this its payment card. As a rule, the card number first of all belongs to their number. Most often it is 16-unit, however there are cards which number contains other number of digits.
Besides, to the data of the card necessary for carrying out payment, the name and a surname of the card holder which are written on its face belong. At the same time it must be kept in mind that the name and a surname on all cards are fixed by Latin letters, and thus these data need to be entered on the website on which you carry out purchase.
The third parameter which you will be asked to enter is a card expiration date. It also is on the face of the payment card and is ordinary designated by two two-digit digits. The first of them is the month of the end of operation of the card corresponding to the standard designations. So, digit 01 on this place means January, digit 02 - February and so on up to digit 12 corresponding to December. The second two-digit digit in this field - year of the end of operation of the card.
CVC code
The CVC code which represents reduction of the English phrase "Card validation code", that is the validation code of the card is a special confidential code which confirms authenticity of the used card. It represents the three-digit digit on the back the payment card recorded in the special field. Near it there is a place intended for the signature of the card holder and the last four digits of its number. This confidential code is a necessary element to make any payment operation on the Internet.
It must be kept in mind that the specified code is applied only in the payment cards issued within the MasterCard system. Cards of the Visa system also have the similar protective code, however it carries other name. It can be designated by an abbreviation of "CVV" which is decrypted as "Card verification value", that is verification value of the card. However, for the rest its function is almost completely identical to the CVC code used in cards of the MasterCard system.
