How to fix milling cutter on table

The manual milling machine is used to processing by end mills (with thrust bearings and without them) large and small wooden parts. For more convenient processing of thin and rather short parts it is desirable to fix such machine on special table. It is quite simple to make it.

  • - Chipboard plate 35 mm thick 600 mm wide 800 mm long;
  • - electrofret saw;
  • - drill and drills with a diameter of 4 and 8 mm for metal;
  • - iron plate 3 mm thick 350 mm wide 400 mm long;
  • - screws;
  • - other elements of table (legs and crossing points);
  • - manual milling machine;
  • - direct circular cutter without thrust bearing;
  • - half-round file in section on metal.

1. On the center of metal plate outline opening with a diameter of 80 mm. From the inside, without reaching 2 mm line of this opening, around drill openings with a diameter of 4 mm. The distance between openings is equal to 3 mm. Drill out these openings to diameter of 8 mm. Take out the drilled site of metal. Half-round file on metal remove jags from the inside of opening with a diameter of 80 mm.

2. Put iron plate on the center of plate of chipboard. Outline plate from outer end. Install in the manual milling machine direct circular cutter without thrust bearing. On line, from the inside vyfrezeruyta deepening under iron plate of 3 mm in depth.

3. Turn off plastic pad from plate of the milling machine. Put it on iron plate. Combine on axes opening on the center of pad with opening on the center of iron plate. Note on iron plate fixing openings in plastic pad. On this marking drill in iron plate of opening with a diameter of 4 mm. Drill out potay in openings drill with a diameter of 8 mm on depth of 1 mm.

4. Insert iron plate into vyfrezerovanny part of plate of chipboard. Note arrangement of opening with a diameter of 80 mm on plate. Take out iron plate. In the place it put the plastic pad which is turned off from plate of the milling machine. Combine axis of the central opening in pad with axis of opening with a diameter of 80 mm, the chipboard who is marked out on plate. Outline plastic pad on the outer edge. Line draw at distance 5 mm from edge of pad. Cut the electrofret saw the outlined piece of plate of chipboard.

5. Drill in metal plate of 8 openings with a diameter of 4 mm. 4 openings make on plate corners at distance 10 mm from its edge, make 4 more openings in the middle between the previous openings, having also receded 10 mm from edge of plate. Drill with a diameter of 8 mm make potay in these openings on depth of 1 mm.

6. Insert and fasten iron plate to plate of chipboard. Establish plate of chipboard on legs. From bottom side of plate of chipboard get and fasten plate of the milling machine to iron plate. The plate of the milling machine has to be without plastic pad. To the place of pad fasten the iron plate fixed on plate of chipboard.
